Invest In Your Saber 2025 - 2026

The Invest In Your Saber (IIYS) campaign funds additional academic, technological and athletic purchases not funded by Williamson County. The school and the PTO rely on these tax-deductible donations to enhance your child’s learning environment. This is the PRIMARY fundraiser for the PTO.

Our 2025-2026 IIYS campaign goal is $45,000. While an investment of $200 per family will have the greatest impact, ANY DONATION AMOUNT will be greatly appreciated! Every Sunset MS family who contributes to the IIYS fundraising campaign becomes a member of the PTO – no separate dues to pay, and gains access to the SMS Family Directory, through the PTO website. Thank you for your continued support. Every dollar helps us continue to provide an excellent academic environment from your donation.

Exciting Investments Enhancing Our School!

We're thrilled to share some significant investments made recently to benefit our students and staff in the 2024-2025 school year! These improvements reflect our commitment to providing the best possible environment for learning and working. Additional purchases can be found at PTO Purchases.

Major Enhancements You'll See!

We've made some large-scale investments that directly impact student activities and school-wide comfort:

New Wrestling Mats: Our wrestling team will be competing and practicing on brand-new, top-of-the-line mats, ensuring their safety and enhancing their performance.
New Band and School Chairs: Comfort and functionality have arrived with new chairs for our band program and for general school use, benefiting students and staff alike during events and daily activities.
Teacher Holiday Lunch & Gift Cards: Our dedicated teachers were treated to a catered holiday lunch, along with $20 gift cards for everyone, as a token of our appreciation for their hard work.

Additional Investments Making a Difference!

Beyond the major improvements, we've also focused on a variety of other areas that contribute to a positive school experience:

Ongoing Teacher Appreciation & Support: We've implemented monthly teacher appreciation initiatives, provided valuable curriculum support, and distributed swag bags (with lanyards, clipboards, and Amazon gift cards) during Teacher Appreciation Week.
Professional Development: Investing in our teachers' growth, we've provided opportunities for professional development to keep their skills sharp and up-to-date.
School Beautification: You'll notice improvements to our school's appearance, including new landscaping, creating a more welcoming environment for everyone.
PBIS Treats: Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) are being reinforced with treats for students.
Enhanced Carline Safety: New safety cones have been purchased to improve our carline procedures and ensure everyone's safety during drop-off and pick-up.
Tucker the Therapy Dog: Our beloved therapy dog, Tucker, has received his certification and insurance, allowing him to continue bringing comfort and joy to our school community.
8th Grade Promotion: We're making the 8th-grade promotion extra special with a dedicated breakfast and celebration.
School Branding & Signage: Look out for enhanced Sunset logos on fences, new signs for lampposts, and upcoming spirit signage, including a prominent signage on the exterior entrance to the gymnasium.

We believe these investments will greatly enhance the experience for everyone at our school. We're excited about these positive changes and look forward to seeing their impact throughout the year!

Celebrate 20 Years with Sunset Middle School!

We're thrilled to announce that this year marks Sunset Middle School's 20th anniversary! For two decades, we've been dedicated to providing a nurturing and enriching educational environment for our students, and we want to celebrate this significant milestone with our entire community.

A memorable 20th-anniversary celebration for all students and staff.
Much-needed campus improvements that will benefit every student.
Educational enrichment opportunities that go beyond the classroom.

We suggest an additional donation of $100, specifically to be used for this milestone, but please know that any amount you can comfortably contribute, or even more if you're able, would be deeply appreciated. Every dollar helps us continue to build a brighter future for our students.

Double Your Donation with a Matching gift!

What is a corporate matching donation? A corporate matching donation, or matching gift, is when an employer matches an employee's non-profit donation, often equal to or greater than the employee’s donation amount. A matching gift is a great way for a donor to increase their contribution to Invest In Your Saber. Sunset Middle School PTO is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

The matching gift process differs from company to company. Please check with your employer’s HR or Benefits department and verify if they offer a matching program. Some require a completed paper acknowledgment form, while others use an online system such as Benevity or Cybergrants.

Exciting News: Sunset Middle School Booster Club!

We're also delighted to share that the Sunset Middle School Booster Club has officially become its own independent entity! This exciting development means the Booster Club will now be solely focused on facilitating athletic fundraising and enhancements specifically for the Sunset Middle School Campus.

This change will allow the Booster Club to dedicate even more resources and energy to supporting our student-athletes and improving our athletic facilities. You can expect more information about the Booster Club's initiatives and how you can get involved throughout the year.
